Bird Of Prey Experience Days: Escape to the glorious Scottish countryside and spend some
quality time with a number of spectacular birds of prey, gaining
first hand knowledge of their eating and hunting habits, and
witnessing their beautiful flight displays.
This half day
experience is perfect for getting some much needed fresh air, and
is guaranteed to be a day to remember.
The falconry experience takes place at a country barn in
Kirkcaldy, and is run by a friendly group of bird enthusiasts who
will make you feel immediately welcome upon arrival.
You'll start
by being introduced to an Owl and Hawk, who will swoop from trees
straight onto your outstretched arm to be rewarded with a tasty
snack, landing gracefully with powerful wings.
There will be plenty
of opportunity to talk to the instructors about the birds and the
great work they do at the falconry centre, before pausing for a
short refreshment break and moving onto the next part of the
experience; the 'close encounter'.
Depending on the weather, you'll
get up close and personal with either a Falcon, Kite or Caracara,
then be introduced to an Eagle for an awesome high-speed dive
display, straight onto your gloved hand!
