Bird Of Prey Experience Days: Of all the beautiful birds in the sky, hawks and falcons are
some of our favourite, and that’s why we’re delighted to offer this
full day handling experience in Kent.
Fellow raptor lovers can
learn more about the history and practice of falconry, before
meeting some majestic birds on the centre’s six-acre nature
trail.
The experience takes place at a top birds of prey centre in
Knockholt, Kent.
On arrival, you’ll be greeted by their experienced
falconers, who’ll begin with a brief introduction over
complimentary drinks.
They’ll cover the history of falconry and
offer an insight into the unique habits and behaviours of the birds
you’ll be meeting.
The rest of the morning is spent learning to
care for and handle them correctly—in a way that’s safe for you
both! After lunch, you’ll move onto the six-acre nature trail,
where one of the falconers will demonstrate the falcon’s aerial
prowess by simulating its prey with a lure.
Finally, a Harris Hawk
will join you in the woods for further photo ops, field craft and
flying lessons, before the session concludes, and you’re free to
explore the trail at leisure.
