Off Road Experience Days: Jump in the passenger seat of a Leyland DAF Truck and take a
ride in the main cargo vehicle of the British MOD, a fantastic
experience for military vehicle enthusiasts in the lovely Bicester
countryside.
On arrival at the track you'll be introduced to the staff and
register your details at reception, then follow the instructor to
the purpose-built track where the Leyland truck will be waiting.
The expert instructor will talk you through the various controls of
the vehicle, its military functions in wars and battles, and how
the trucks have developed over time to become the primary cargo
machine for the British Army.
Once you're comfortable in the
passenger seat, the instructor will whizz you round the course,
putting the truck through its paces so you get the most realistic
ride possible! With a 6 litre, 150bhp Cummins diesel engine doing
12 miles per gallon, a 5 ton load capacity, and a maximum speed of
60mph on and off-road, this is unlike any vehicle you've ever
experienced.
